Hardboard vs Inflatable Paddle Board

Your finally ready to purchase a paddle board for yourself or your family but how do you know which board to buy? Glide has boards for just about everyone and for any type of paddling, so let us help you narrow down your selection.

Hardboard VS Inflatable Paddle Board

First thing to decide is if you want a hard board or an inflatable paddle board. This really comes down to storage and transportation. It used to be that you would have to sacrifice performance with and inflatable, or durability if you had a hard board. The technology in a  Glide inflatable paddle board has come a long way and they now paddle nearly as well as a hard board. And with GSS construction our hardboard's are ultra durable and are as strong as an inflatable. So it really comes down to transportation and storage.

Let's not beat around the bush here, hardboard are big! And they take a lot of storage space, and you you will need a adequate rack on your vehicle to transport them from your home to the water.  The good news is that once you get to the water all you have to do is carry board down to the water and start paddling! It is just that easy.

An inflatable packs up into its backpack and takes much less space to store it, and you can transport it inside your car, or in public transportation.  The main downside to an inflatable paddle board is that you do have to inflate it once you get to the water, and deflate it again once you need to take it home if you do not have room or a vehicle that can transport it inflated.  Our inflatables can be stored and transported while inflated just like a hard board can, there is no problems doing that!
